The Lafayette is a far cry from ordinary wedding venues in San Diego. Good thing – because you never dreamed of having an ordinary wedding. After its grand opening on July 1, 1946, the Lafayette Hotel was originally built as a luxury out of town getaway for Hollywood Stars.  In 2012 The Lafayette Hotel completed its $6 million renovation.  Designed to preserve the rich spirit of the hotel, while respecting its’ 67-year vibrant soul, old building materials were recycled and reimagined to create a nostalgic and eclectic ambiance. The Hotel is a full-service boutique hotel with two restaurants and bars. We have multiple venues for receptions and dinners including the Mississippi Room, which seats up to 500 guests, features an original clam shell bandstand and built-in dance floor and was included in the filming of the movie “Top Gun”.
