Many years ago two sisters from Kansas fell in love with fashion. It started when we were very young, playing with dolls and drawing faces. As teenagers we would spend hours reading fashion magazines and going through thrift stores to find clothing we could redesign into modern pieces while keeping the vintage appeal. All the while, we dreamed of a day when we would have our own clothing line.

Jaime chose the sensible road by going to business school and creating a successful career in marketing in California while always staying creative with her hobbies of textile design, knitting and gardening.

Julie chose the artist's life. After taking a job at a bridal salon, she fell in love with fabrics, gowns and the joy of weddings. In time, she sold most of her belongings and moved to LA to attend FIDM and become a bridal gown designer. After many years designing and sewing custom bridal gowns she was asked to do a flower girl dress. Julie remembered how much she had enjoyed being a flower girl and immediately knew what she wanted to do forever. As she gained traction as a flower girl designer, she noticed that there issn't a lot of variety in the current market.

That’s when true inspiration struck! Julie envisioned a line of pieces that are interchangeable, customizable and truly cater to the playful, creative flower-girl. With Jaime’s love for anything youthful, beautiful and elegant she was quickly on board. We set out to design a high quality brand that would allow the flower girl to wear the pieces again and again.

Thus Sugarplume was born, a line of individually beautiful pieces that can be mixed and matched to suit the style of any wedding. Our goal is to provide options for the flower girl to design her own look by choosing the pieces that speak to her.  

After a long winding road of life, love, jobs and multiple moves we have finally brought our  childhood dream to life at SugarPlume and we couldn't be more excited to share our dream with you!
